my blogI find New Adult to be very hit or miss. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I don’t and unfortunately Fall Guy fell into the latter category. The storyline was alright and I did quite like it in parts but I often found it a little far-fetched, especially where Winchester (also really not a fan of the name) and his family were concerned.
The writing was not quite for me, it was over the top with far too many embellished descriptions and an overabundance of sometimes bizarre simile’s. It was all a little too much for me and didn’t always make much sense.
The characters were alright, I quite liked Winchester despite his ridiculous situation. I thought he was quite cute and I liked the way he was able to call Evan out on her bull shit.
Evan was not as likeable. I didn’t quite like her attitude she didn’t seem to care about herself at all, it was like she just could not be bothered to protect herself from anything. She puts herself is silly situations and then sulks about it. I also hated how everyone constantly mentions how beautiful it is, it is like they cannot look are her without telling her she is gorgeous.
The romance was quite sweet and despite my issues with Evan I thought she and Winchester suited each other well and they had definite chemistry. For me the will they won’t they build up lasted a little too long but I know some readers will love it.
Fall Guy has its good moments and its bad but in the end I found it a little overdone.
